One of the most common questions asked by capsule coffee machine users around the world concerns capsule adapters. A Nespresso capsule adapter or a Dolce Gusto capsule adapter are small devices or accessories that are inserted into the original capsule holder of the coffee machine and leave the use of capsules from other systems behind.

You know that capsules from different systems often have different dimensions, sizes and materials. They are therefore not compatible from one coffee machine to another. All this can be solved with a capsule adapter.

And the star product is obviously the Nespresso-Dolce Gusto capsule adapter. This system allows you to use Dolce Gusto capsules in a Nespresso coffee machine or Nespresso capsules in a Dolce Gusto coffee machine. It's practically like transforming a Dolce Gusto into a Nespresso.

Unfortunately, this is not yet free on the market, but there are some first attempts to solve the problem (roughly satisfactory, that's another story). Many users make them themselves in a "homemade" way, but of course they are not marketed.

However, it is possible to purchase an adapter for coffee capsules from another system. And among them, there are multiple models on the market, as we will see now. It is essential to know how to distinguish between them, because an adapter for Dolce Gusto Nespresso capsules is not exactly the same as an adapter for a single capsule of either system.


Nespresso capsule adapters

There is still no adaptor for Nespresso capsules on the market, i.e. a system that allows the capsules of the Nespresso system to be used in a coffee machine of another brand. The exclusivity of the Nespresso system prevents this. Only compatible Nespresso capsules can be used in Nespresso coffee machines or in the coffee machines of authorised Nestlé partners, such as the NPG Forella NP-50 or the Xiaomi Scishare coffee machines. Adapters for Dolce Gusto capsules

First, let's clarify the terms: A Dolce Gusto capsule adapter is not exactly the same as a reusable or refillable capsule. It is an adapter that allows the use of capsules from other systems in a Dolce Gusto coffee machine.

The best known Dolce Gusto capsule adapter on the planet is the Tres capsule adapter. If you come from outside of Brazil, this may not mean anything to you. But in Brazil, they are well known, and their market share is growing. Their trade name is Multicap.

The Multicap capsule adapter is compatible and removable with each and every Dolce Gusto coffee machine. Another precise adapter for the Dolce Gusto capsule is the K-Fee system. This German adapter works like the previous Multicap and lets you use the K-Fee capsules (smaller than the original Dolce Gusto capsules) in the coffee machine.
